Ongoing WordPress care — Australia-wide

WordPress care plans for established business websites

Keep your WordPress website maintained, recoverable and understood through controlled update cycles, monitored off-site backups, practical checks and direct support from Kevin.

An unfamiliar website is assessed before ongoing responsibility is accepted. No passwords are requested at the enquiry stage.

Ongoing care

Known state

A maintained website should have a known state

Routine maintenance is safer when the current condition, recovery path and responsibilities have already been established.

Established before care begins

Backups

Stored off site and monitored

Software changes

Controlled and checked

Support context

Retained by the person doing the work

Monitoring can reveal a problem; it cannot guarantee that software, hosting or third-party services will never fail.

More than automatic updates

Ongoing care keeps the website known, recoverable and easier to support

A care plan is not a promise that nothing will ever go wrong. It is a structured way to reduce avoidable risk, preserve a recovery path and make sure someone understands the website before a small issue becomes an unexplained emergency.

01

Controlled change

Updates are applied according to the website’s condition and compatibility—not simply switched on and forgotten.

02

Recoverable backups

Files and the database are backed up away from the website, monitored and periodically checked as part of the recovery process.

03

Earlier warning

Uptime, vulnerabilities and important site-health signals are monitored so problems can be reviewed before they remain unnoticed for weeks.

04

Retained context

Kevin keeps a maintenance record and builds practical knowledge of the website, reducing repeated diagnosis and anonymous support handovers.

The monthly fee covers the agreed care routine and plan allowance. Pre-existing faults, substantial repairs, new functionality and work outside that boundary are explained and approved separately.

Included with every accepted plan

The maintenance foundation does not change with the package name

Every accepted site receives the same core disciplines. The plans differ by maintenance frequency, support allowance, priority and technical complexity—not by removing the fundamentals from the entry option.

01

Controlled WordPress maintenance

WordPress core, themes and plugins are reviewed and maintained on the cycle defined by the plan. Urgent security updates can be prioritised outside the normal cycle when appropriate.

02

Monitored off-site backups

Files and database backups are stored away from the live website. Backup jobs are monitored and a recovery check is included in the care process.

03

Uptime monitoring and first review

Automated uptime monitoring runs continuously. When an alert occurs, the website receives an initial review during business hours to distinguish a temporary event from a problem requiring action.

04

Vulnerability and site-health review

Known software vulnerabilities and important WordPress health signals are reviewed so the next maintenance decision is based on the website’s actual condition.

05

Post-maintenance verification

Agreed public-facing pages and paths are checked after the maintenance cycle. The exact checks depend on the website and accepted plan.

06

Written maintenance record

You receive a concise record of maintenance completed, important observations and anything that needs a separate decision.

Care options and price

Choose the level of attention the website actually needs

The two standard plans suit established brochure and lead-generation websites. Ecommerce, membership, booking and heavily customised sites begin with a tailored scope because their consequences and maintenance workload are different.

Standard website care

Care Essentials

AU$129

per month
month to month

Best for: Established brochure and lead-generation websites with modest change frequency.

  • Monthly controlled maintenance cycle
  • Shared care foundation
  • Daily off-site backup schedule
  • Agreed public-page verification
  • Standard business-hours support queue
  • Up to 20 minutes of minor support
  • Concise monthly maintenance record

Unused support time does not accumulate. Larger work is quoted before it begins.

Complex or higher-consequence websites

Tailored Care

From AU$499

per month
scope defined after audit

Best for: WooCommerce, membership, booking, custom-code and other websites where transactions, access or unusual dependencies increase the care requirement.

  • Maintenance frequency matched to the website
  • Backup schedule matched to data change
  • Agreed transactional or member-path checks
  • Defined support allowance and queue priority
  • Specific licence, staging and recovery duties
  • Written service boundaries and response target

The final monthly price is confirmed only after the website’s systems, workload and consequences are understood.

Prices are in Australian dollars. Kelly Creative is not registered for GST, so GST is not added. Third-party hosting, domain, premium plugin, theme and service fees remain separate unless the accepted scope says otherwise.

Clear responsibilities

Know what the monthly fee covers before the first maintenance cycle

A useful care plan needs a boundary. It protects you from vague invoices and protects the maintenance routine from being consumed by unrelated project work.

Covered by the accepted plan

  • The defined maintenance cycle
  • Monitoring and backup oversight
  • Agreed post-maintenance checks
  • The plan’s minor-support allowance
  • Maintenance records and observations
  • First review of monitoring alerts during business hours
  • Small corrections directly caused by the managed maintenance cycle, where safely contained within the plan boundary

Separately scoped and approved

  • Pre-existing faults found during onboarding
  • Malware cleanup, blacklist recovery or forensic investigation
  • Hosting migrations, DNS work and email-delivery projects
  • New pages, redesigns, functionality or custom development
  • Complex theme, plugin or page-builder conflicts
  • Major performance or database remediation
  • After-hours emergency work or guaranteed service levels
  • Third-party licences, subscriptions and provider fees

Queue priority affects when a request is reviewed; it is not a guaranteed repair time. Resolution depends on access, diagnosis, third-party services, the website’s condition and whether the work falls inside the accepted plan.

Before ongoing responsibility

A care plan should begin with a website both sides understand

Taking over an unfamiliar WordPress website without first checking its condition moves unknown problems into the monthly service. The AU$550 technical audit creates a fair baseline and separates existing repair work from the care routine.

Already have a recent technical audit or an established Kelly Creative baseline? Send it for review. Useful current evidence will not be duplicated simply to force another purchase.

01

Request the technical audit

Provide the website and plain-language context. No payment or technical access is required merely to submit the request.

02

Establish the current condition

Kevin reviews the WordPress installation, updates, backups, hosting constraints, security exposure, performance signals and site-specific risks.

03

Stabilise what should not enter the plan

Material pre-existing faults are explained and, where necessary, offered as a separate scope. You decide whether that work proceeds.

04

Confirm the right care arrangement

Once responsibilities and the baseline are clear, the suitable plan, start date and any tailored checks are confirmed in writing.

Care-plan suitability

Standard care suits a stable website with clear ownership

The audit is also a fit check. It prevents a simple brochure-site plan being used for a transactional or unstable website whose real workload needs a different agreement.

A standard plan is likely to fit when

  • The site is an established WordPress brochure or lead-generation website
  • Hosting, domain and premium software accounts are current and accessible
  • Legitimate licences can be maintained
  • One person can approve changes and answer questions
  • The site is not already compromised or repeatedly failing
  • Larger changes can be separately scoped

A tailored review is needed when

  • The site processes payments, bookings, memberships or protected data
  • Custom code or abandoned plugins are business-critical
  • The hosting or deployment process is unusual
  • The site is hacked, unstable or unable to update safely
  • Frequent development work is expected
  • Formal after-hours or service-level obligations are required

A care plan is not used to conceal a website that first needs repair, migration or replacement. The evidence determines the responsible recommendation.

How ongoing care works

A repeatable cycle, with a record of what changed

The exact frequency depends on the accepted plan, but the underlying care sequence remains consistent.

01

Monitor

Review uptime, vulnerabilities, backup jobs and relevant site-health signals.

02

Preserve

Confirm a current recovery point before higher-risk maintenance work.

03

Maintain

Apply the agreed WordPress, theme and plugin maintenance cycle.

04

Verify

Check the agreed public paths and plan-specific functionality.

05

Record

Document changes, observations and decisions that need attention.

06

Support

Use the plan allowance for minor requests or scope larger work before it begins.

Frequently asked questions

Before you choose ongoing care

Does a care plan include hosting?

No. Kelly Creative manages the agreed WordPress care layer. Your hosting, domain and email services remain with their providers unless a written scope explicitly says otherwise. I can liaise with a provider or recommend a change when the evidence supports it.

Does the monthly fee include emergency repairs?

It includes monitoring, the first review of an alert during business hours and any work specifically listed in the accepted plan. A substantial outage, compromise, third-party failure or pre-existing fault may require a separate repair scope before work proceeds.

Can you take over maintenance immediately?

Not responsibly when the website is unfamiliar. The technical audit establishes the baseline, identifies existing risks and confirms whether a standard or tailored care arrangement is appropriate. A recent equivalent audit can be reviewed instead of duplicated.

Are all updates installed automatically?

No. Automatic updates can be appropriate in some circumstances, but the care model is controlled rather than indiscriminate. Update urgency, compatibility, the available recovery point and the website’s consequences are considered together.

What counts as minor support?

Small content, configuration or maintenance requests that can be completed safely within the plan allowance and do not create a new project. Examples may include replacing supplied text or an image, a simple settings change or a small adjustment to existing content. New functionality, design work and deeper troubleshooting are separately scoped.

Does unused support time roll over?

No. The allowance reserves a modest amount of capacity within that month’s care service; it is not a bank of development hours. A larger planned task is better quoted and scheduled as its own scope.

Can I cancel the plan?

Yes. The standard plans are month to month. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period. Any outstanding separately approved work and third-party services remain payable or transferable according to their own terms.

Do you support WooCommerce and membership websites?

Yes, subject to the technical audit and a tailored care scope. Transactional and access-controlled websites usually need more frequent checks, clearer recovery responsibilities and a workload-based price.

Can maintenance guarantee that the website will never go down or be hacked?

No provider can responsibly make that guarantee. Ongoing care reduces avoidable exposure, improves recovery readiness and gives the website a defined response path when something does happen.
